The demolitions department of the Ward Officer (Malad West) along with social worker Nevada Putman and police from the Bangur Nagar police station, raided and demolished an illegal hookah palour operating on the terrace of Aura Hotel at Evershine Nagar, Malad West on Thursday evening.
According to social worker Nevada Putman, “Parents of school and college-going students in Evershine Nagar had complained to me that an illegal hookah joint was operating atop Aura Hotel on the terrace. The hookah bar was completely illegal and was also serving liquor and hookah to teenagers without any ID proof. Accordingly, I investigated it and found that the complaints were true. With the help of the local BMC demolitions in-charge and the Bangur Nagar police under the supervision and guidance of senior inspector Santosh Bhandare, the team raided the illegal hookah palour and demolished it.” Putman said.
We have got tremendous support from Bangur Nagar Police station in curbing illegal activities in the area and Sr PI Santosh Bhandare and his team are very co-operative, Nevada Putman told IndiaScribes.com.

One such agent Mukesh Durani from Lokhandwala in Andheri West who “sells” cell phone contact numbers data of hookah consumers in the suburbs charges Rs 25,000/- for his database which consists of about one lakh numbers of regular hookah users.
